“Germany is a resilient nation” – Wirtschaftsforum interview with TMC Managing Director Kai Peppmeier

Wirtschaftsforum magazine spoke to Kai Peppmeier, Managing Director of TMC Turnaround Management Consult GmbH.

The magazine Wirtschaftsforum spoke to Kai Peppmeier, Managing Director of TMC Turnaround Management Consult GmbH, about the state of the German economy, successful restructuring approaches and the role of empathy in transformation processes. The interview highlights how TMC guides companies through challenging situations in a fact-based, pragmatic yet human way.

In the interview, Peppmeier emphasises that demand for restructuring and turnaround consultancy is high across many sectors. He states that the key to successful consultancy lies in a robust data foundation, clear priorities – and the involvement of all stakeholders: management, staff and the works council. Once the facts are transparent, even difficult measures can be negotiated and implemented constructively.

In the long term, Peppmeier is optimistic: Germany’s character as a nation of small and medium-sized enterprises, its entrepreneurial spirit and its pool of skilled workers form a solid foundation – provided that companies divest themselves of areas that are no longer viable in the market and consistently align themselves with the future. He sees key areas in the professionalisation of management information, digitalisation and internationalisation – including through partnerships.

Kai Peppmeier: “Our success depends entirely on getting people on board and laying the facts clearly on the table. This is how we build acceptance for necessary decisions and ensure our future viability.”
